Nor'easter forecast: five days of northeast wind, Outer Banks to Maine

The Mid-Atlantic coast is in it now: Norfolk's water is about 3 feet above the predicted tide, and coastal flood warnings run from Hatteras to the Jersey Shore. The strongest wind reaches the Jersey Shore, Long Island and southern New England Friday night into Saturday, with gusts of 40 to 50 mph at the coast, 2 to 4 inches of rain in eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and coastal flooding on Saturday's full-moon tides. Winds ease Sunday.
